Home Inspector Reviews

Home inspector reviews can be critical in your search for an outstanding home inspector for your home purchase in Oregon or Washington.  Nonprofit Home Inspections is unique in the home inspection industry for a number of reasons, but most notably because we have never paid for an advertisement nor have we ever marketed our services to real estate agents.  All of our business comes from positive experiences and referrals from clients like you.

While many home inspectors understand their tremendous responsibility to their clients, some view the minimum requirements set by the state as their standard inspection.  As a mission driven nonprofit organization, we are not profit driven and always strive to go above and beyond what’s required by the state in order to give our clients outstanding, very detailed home inspections.  This attention to detail is reflected in the reviews left by our clients on Google, Yelp, Facebook, Angie’s List, Openbook, and more.  Home inspector reviews like these are critical in helping you make an informed decision about who will inspect your next home.  Please check out our home inspector reviews and let us know how we can be of service to you.

I am so impressed & pleased that I went with Russ for inspection. His team & himself were so detailed in inspecting the house & gave a very extensive report. They showed exactly what the house needed to be done & showed what we’re buying into. His inspection & report may have saved us $ in bargaining. I would highly recommend his company, especially Russ to any my family & friends & any buyers/ sellers. You will not regret it. Thank you for an awesome job.

I seriously can't say enough great things about the folks at Nonprofit Home Inspections. I’ve spoken with Charles, the proprietor, on several instances and he was very knowledgeable and personable while addressing my questions about the services they offer. He provided concise information about a few of the services that I was unfamiliar with and even advised me on which services I didn’t need- saving me hundreds of dollars. I especially want to give props to my "go-to" inspector, Tom Walther. The consummate professional, I've called upon Tom to evaluate three properties in the past two months (the third home inspection was just completed today). Tom was kind enough to rearrange his busy schedule in order to accommodate me during a very tight option period. Professional, honest, knowledgeable, detail-oriented, punctual, patient, reliable, friendly, (I could go on), Tom is extremely fastidious and spent as much time as necessary to ensure that every part of the home was carefully reviewed.

Tom spent over four and a half hours inspecting the first home I had in escrow. His careful inspection uncovered a multitude of serious issues which, when brought to the attention of the sellers’ agent, ultimately led the sellers to pull their house off the market. Disaster averted. A few weeks later, Tom’s thoroughness (he was there for nearly four hours) inspecting the second home uncovered several hidden issues on an otherwise seemingly “good home,” which included a cracked sewer line, foundation issues and excessive water damage- just to name a few problems; and, resulted in me terminating the Contract. Another excellent save. Tom spent approximately six (yes, SIX) hours inspecting the most recent home under contract... Comprehensive? Meticulous? Clearly!

Tom provides not only the full inspection report complete with color photos but also gives you a Summary that details the “Repair/Replace” issues. Additionally, once you receive the inspection report, Nonprofit Home Inspection has a feature that allows you to prepare an outline of key concerns (with supporting photos and the ability to allocate repair/replacement costs) as a renegotiation tool. Awesome!

My previous agent jokingly dubbed Tom as “the deal killer.” Perhaps. But, so far, he has saved me from purchasing a couple of million dollar money pits, as well as kept my sanity and my peace-of-mind intact. Here’s hoping that the third house inspection “passes.” If not, I’ll most assuredly call upon Tom and Nonprofit Home Inspection to provide me with all the facts to help make an informed decision on my next home purchase. So, if you’re ever in need of a home inspection- to clarify, the most thorough and complete home inspection- speak with Charles for honest advice and make sure to schedule your appointment with Tom. These gentlemen and this company are a rare find in a world brimming with fly-by-nights, charlatans and crooks.

My experience with Nonprofit Home Inspections was awesome! I worked with Tom. He was extremely thorough and took the time to answer my questions. The inspection took about 4 hours. I received a 130 page inspection report the same day as the inspection. As a first time home buyer I feel so much better knowing that the inspector took the inspection seriously. The inspection was a little more expensive than other places I got quotes for but it was totally worth the money! I would recommend Nonprofit Home Inspection to anyone that needs a home inspection.

We had a great experience with non-profit home inspections. Reggie arrived on time and provided a detailed and thorough inspection. He was available and responded quickly to any follow-up questions. We followed-up with contractors about some of the areas Reggie highlighted in his inspection, and found his assessment to be solid. It gave us confidence to go ahead with the home purchase, but the knowledge of areas that would need our attention once we moved in.

I have used Nonprofit Home Inspections for my home 1 year warranty request. I must say this is the best inspection I had as compared to earlier. Tom Walther's inspection was thorough and it seems me that he is an expert. I am very impressed by the service I got. I would definitely recommend Tom and Nonprofit Home Inspections to other folks for the best service they provide.

Reggie Anderson did the inspection for us twice. Worth every penny each time. He is kind, professional, knowledgeable, and detail oriented. The report that he provides is impressive, even the builder of the house was impressed with the amount of details in the report. He provided us all the construction/structure defects, necessary repairs/replacements backing up with laws/codes and images. Also, the report has lots of wonderful hints on how we can improve our house. I recommended him to few friends who were buying houses and they all had great experience with him. He doesn't leave until he inspects every inch of the house, inside and outside, atic, crawl space, roof etc. He does his job in the best way. I really appreciate him.

Reggie was great to work with and provided a very thorough inspection report which helped us greatly. He arrived early, took his time, took tons of photographs, and answered questions I had after the inspection via email very promptly. The report was available to us the same day the inspection was done as well. I would not have any reservations in recommending Reggie and would use his services again.

Adam was great to work with and the report he wrote had everything I needed and more. He arrived a few minutes before inspection time which game us time to chat prior to the inspection. During the inspection, I asked questions and he took time to explain issues and what I should do next.

I have a great experience with NHI and will recommend them again any day. Thank you!

Matt was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, prompt and reliable. the company also provides a list of things to ask for from your seller. Prices are fair and I appreciate the fact they're non-profit. They didn't try to impress me by a big ole binder with the results (other guys) instead provided a highly qualified professional.

Teman (Matt) Montgomery did a great job with our home inspection. He seemed very knowledgeable with all the aspects of home inspection. He was very thorough and was also very patient answering all the questions we had. He promptly delivered report the same night with all the details we had discussed. The company Non-Profit home inspections seems to have mastered the art. The whole experience was fabulous. The sign up was easy, communication leading up to inspection was clear and timely and overall professionalism and courtesy was fantastic. I will highly recommend Non-Profit Home Inspection and Matt to anyone wanting to get a thorough home inspection for their new purchase.

The home inspector that performed an inspection for me was named Teman Montgomery, he was extremely knowledgeable and did a thorough job. His report was extremely detailed and the summary of issues that needed fixed/addressed was enough for me to decide on not proceeding with the home purchase. I will use this company again in the future as I try to find a home!

This company is so much more than your standard inspection! Our inspector, Teman, spent over three hours checking out our less than 1,000 square foot prospective house. He was courteous, extremely helpful and obviously knowledgeable. Teman took time to explain the various issues he found and before he left he gave us a guide to help us understand the report and take care of the house going forward. In addition, just like they promise, the report was ready within HOURS! We could not be more pleased with Nonprofit Home Inspections and highly recommend them.
