I seriously can't say enough great things about the folks at Nonprofit Home Inspections. I’ve spoken with Charles, the proprietor, on several instances and he was very knowledgeable and personable while addressing my questions about the services they offer. He provided concise information about a few of the services that I was unfamiliar with and even advised me on which services I didn’t need- saving me hundreds of dollars. I especially want to give props to my "go-to" inspector, Tom Walther. The consummate professional, I've called upon Tom to evaluate three properties in the past two months (the third home inspection was just completed today). Tom was kind enough to rearrange his busy schedule in order to accommodate me during a very tight option period. Professional, honest, knowledgeable, detail-oriented, punctual, patient, reliable, friendly, (I could go on), Tom is extremely fastidious and spent as much time as necessary to ensure that every part of the home was carefully reviewed.
Tom spent over four and a half hours inspecting the first home I had in escrow. His careful inspection uncovered a multitude of serious issues which, when brought to the attention of the sellers’ agent, ultimately led the sellers to pull their house off the market. Disaster averted. A few weeks later, Tom’s thoroughness (he was there for nearly four hours) inspecting the second home uncovered several hidden issues on an otherwise seemingly “good home,” which included a cracked sewer line, foundation issues and excessive water damage- just to name a few problems; and, resulted in me terminating the Contract. Another excellent save. Tom spent approximately six (yes, SIX) hours inspecting the most recent home under contract... Comprehensive? Meticulous? Clearly!
Tom provides not only the full inspection report complete with color photos but also gives you a Summary that details the “Repair/Replace” issues. Additionally, once you receive the inspection report, Nonprofit Home Inspection has a feature that allows you to prepare an outline of key concerns (with supporting photos and the ability to allocate repair/replacement costs) as a renegotiation tool. Awesome!
My previous agent jokingly dubbed Tom as “the deal killer.” Perhaps. But, so far, he has saved me from purchasing a couple of million dollar money pits, as well as kept my sanity and my peace-of-mind intact. Here’s hoping that the third house inspection “passes.” If not, I’ll most assuredly call upon Tom and Nonprofit Home Inspection to provide me with all the facts to help make an informed decision on my next home purchase. So, if you’re ever in need of a home inspection- to clarify, the most thorough and complete home inspection- speak with Charles for honest advice and make sure to schedule your appointment with Tom. These gentlemen and this company are a rare find in a world brimming with fly-by-nights, charlatans and crooks.
