Home Inspector Reviews

Home inspector reviews can be critical in your search for an outstanding home inspector for your home purchase in Oregon or Washington.  Nonprofit Home Inspections is unique in the home inspection industry for a number of reasons, but most notably because we have never paid for an advertisement nor have we ever marketed our services to real estate agents.  All of our business comes from positive experiences and referrals from clients like you.

While many home inspectors understand their tremendous responsibility to their clients, some view the minimum requirements set by the state as their standard inspection.  As a mission driven nonprofit organization, we are not profit driven and always strive to go above and beyond what’s required by the state in order to give our clients outstanding, very detailed home inspections.  This attention to detail is reflected in the reviews left by our clients on Google, Yelp, Facebook, Angie’s List, Openbook, and more.  Home inspector reviews like these are critical in helping you make an informed decision about who will inspect your next home.  Please check out our home inspector reviews and let us know how we can be of service to you.

Excellent service, very detailed. I had an inspection done with a different company when I bought my new home so I have a basis for comparison. The first inspection (with the other company) was okay, but I was left with the feeling that the inspector was primarily there for his check.

Before my home warranty expired, I opted to try Nonprofit Home Inspections. Tom came out to perform their standard home inspection, a sewer scope, and a mold test. The quality of his inspection was significantly better than my first inspection. He was very detailed, and he answered all of my questions. He also got into all the nooks and crannies of my home including the roof.

The inspection report is great! It was literally 108 pages, and it contained tons of pictures/videos and annotations that are clearly tailored to my home and not some boiler plate text that is copied and pasted from report to report. Tom even provided video of my sewer scope. Awesome!

When I perform my next home inspection in a few years, I will definitely go with Nonprofit Home Inspections again, and I'll go so far as to even request Tom again. His work is the gold standard for how home inspections should be done. Very glad I found Tom and Nonprofit Home Inspections!

Keep up the great work!

Tom was so thorough and took great pictures and notes for all areas of the inspection. I’m a first time home owner so I had a lot questions about the process and he took the time to talk with me on the phone and answer all my questions to my full satisfaction. I feel really good going into this purchase knowing exactly what repairs to focus on.

I am so impressed & pleased that I went with Russ for inspection. His team & himself were so detailed in inspecting the house & gave a very extensive report. They showed exactly what the house needed to be done & showed what we’re buying into. His inspection & report may have saved us $ in bargaining. I would highly recommend his company, especially Russ to any my family & friends & any buyers/ sellers. You will not regret it. Thank you for an awesome job.

I seriously can't say enough great things about the folks at Nonprofit Home Inspections. I’ve spoken with Charles, the proprietor, on several instances and he was very knowledgeable and personable while addressing my questions about the services they offer. He provided concise information about a few of the services that I was unfamiliar with and even advised me on which services I didn’t need- saving me hundreds of dollars. I especially want to give props to my "go-to" inspector, Tom Walther. The consummate professional, I've called upon Tom to evaluate three properties in the past two months (the third home inspection was just completed today). Tom was kind enough to rearrange his busy schedule in order to accommodate me during a very tight option period. Professional, honest, knowledgeable, detail-oriented, punctual, patient, reliable, friendly, (I could go on), Tom is extremely fastidious and spent as much time as necessary to ensure that every part of the home was carefully reviewed.

Tom spent over four and a half hours inspecting the first home I had in escrow. His careful inspection uncovered a multitude of serious issues which, when brought to the attention of the sellers’ agent, ultimately led the sellers to pull their house off the market. Disaster averted. A few weeks later, Tom’s thoroughness (he was there for nearly four hours) inspecting the second home uncovered several hidden issues on an otherwise seemingly “good home,” which included a cracked sewer line, foundation issues and excessive water damage- just to name a few problems; and, resulted in me terminating the Contract. Another excellent save. Tom spent approximately six (yes, SIX) hours inspecting the most recent home under contract... Comprehensive? Meticulous? Clearly!

Tom provides not only the full inspection report complete with color photos but also gives you a Summary that details the “Repair/Replace” issues. Additionally, once you receive the inspection report, Nonprofit Home Inspection has a feature that allows you to prepare an outline of key concerns (with supporting photos and the ability to allocate repair/replacement costs) as a renegotiation tool. Awesome!

My previous agent jokingly dubbed Tom as “the deal killer.” Perhaps. But, so far, he has saved me from purchasing a couple of million dollar money pits, as well as kept my sanity and my peace-of-mind intact. Here’s hoping that the third house inspection “passes.” If not, I’ll most assuredly call upon Tom and Nonprofit Home Inspection to provide me with all the facts to help make an informed decision on my next home purchase. So, if you’re ever in need of a home inspection- to clarify, the most thorough and complete home inspection- speak with Charles for honest advice and make sure to schedule your appointment with Tom. These gentlemen and this company are a rare find in a world brimming with fly-by-nights, charlatans and crooks.

This is the third time I have Tom Walther to do my home inspection. This time, we had warranty inspection. Tom did a great job pin point the details that need to be repaired. He also thoroughly checked the roof, crawlspace, and attic for any possible damage. The devices he used is kind of advanced than general inspectors which gave us a lot of valuable information. I would recommend to anyone.

I don't typically leave reviews, but Reggie deserves some praise! He was super thorough and professional while inspecting our potential new home. At the end he took the time to explain his findings and answer every question we threw at him. We feel much more at ease after working with him, and will recommend Reggie/Nonprofit Home Inspections to others in the future!

All these 5 star reviews don't lie. Reggie from Nonprofit Home Inspections gave us an absolutely top notch report- my realtor called it the most detailed and thorough report she's ever seen. And all of that at a competitive price with other inspection services, and a nonprofit that helps people who couldn't otherwise afford an inspection get one? That's pretty incredible in my book.

Reggie did our home inspection, he did an excellent job and his report was outstanding. He was incredibly thorough and was able to identify numerous issues, appropriately, that needed to be addressed. His communication has been professional, prompt and informative. Because of keen eye, Reggie help us from purchasing, what would have become a money pit. I highly recommend Reggie and Nonprofit Home Inspections. We will be purchasing other home and will be using him again.

Reggie Anderson did the inspection for us twice. Worth every penny each time. He is kind, professional, knowledgeable, and detail oriented. The report that he provides is impressive, even the builder of the house was impressed with the amount of details in the report. He provided us all the construction/structure defects, necessary repairs/replacements backing up with laws/codes and images. Also, the report has lots of wonderful hints on how we can improve our house. I recommended him to few friends who were buying houses and they all had great experience with him. He doesn't leave until he inspects every inch of the house, inside and outside, atic, crawl space, roof etc. He does his job in the best way. I really appreciate him.

Matt was thorough and professional during our home inspection. He provided images and descriptions as well as explained the entire report which seemed very overwhelming at first but once we accessed the secure report, we were able to access the summary as well. Thank you so much.

Matt was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, prompt and reliable. the company also provides a list of things to ask for from your seller. Prices are fair and I appreciate the fact they're non-profit. They didn't try to impress me by a big ole binder with the results (other guys) instead provided a highly qualified professional.
