- Structural – Foundation, floors, walls, ceilings, and columns
- Roof – Shingle condition, chimneys, vents, skylights, drainage, flashing
- Heating and air conditioning – Cooling equipment, thermostats, heating equipment, safety controls, and operating controls
- Electrical – Installed electrical fixtures, smoke, and carbon monoxide detectors, service conductors, grounding and polarity
- Plumbing – Interior drains, vents, faucets, and sump pumps
- Appliances – Range and cooktop, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher (built-in), garbage disposal, and trash compactor
- Ventilation and insulation – Attic, venting in bathrooms and kitchen, ventilation fans, vapor retarders
- Basement and crawl space – Basement walls, slab, and doors
A full home inspection typically lasts between three to four hours. After the inspection, you’ll get a comprehensive report that outlines the condition of the above areas of your home. We’ll provide you with photos and videos, if applicable.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), all homes should be tested for radon when they are sold. The reason why the EPA has made this recommendation is because around one out of every 15 homes in the U.S. has higher levels of radon than what is considered safe by public health organizations.
So, what is radon and why test for it? Radon is an odorless, colorless gas that is the leading cause of lung cancer after smoking. Radon is produced when uranium breaks down in the soil. The byproducts of uranium create radon, a radioactive gas that enters homes through cracks in the foundation, basement and other openings. Being exposed to radon can lead to cancer. It can take anywhere from five years to decades for cancer to develop depending on a number of other factors. The EPA and other public health agencies recommend radon testing for all home buyers. We also recommend radon testing for home sellers and current owners.
Schedule your home inspection today. Nonprofit Home Inspections will provide you with a comprehensive and detailed report of your home’s major areas and systems the very same day as your inspection.

Lewisville Home Inspection
Nonprofit Home Inspections offers Lewisville home inspection services to residents in the greater Clark County area. Situated right in the heart of the county, Lewisville is a region with access to big city amenities. Bordering Venersborg, Battleground, and Cherry Grove, this census designated area has grown in recent years, thanks to Clark County’s rapid development.
With much of the Lewisville area receiving over 40 inches of rain per year, water intrusion is a serious issue in homes around this area. At Nonprofit Home Inspections, we utilize thermal imaging technology to help detect areas of water intrusion inside your home. With many of our inspectors living in the Clark County area, we are familiar with regionally common issues, such as roof flashing defects, shingle deficiencies, and galvanized piping.
The first settler in the area, Adolphus Lee Lewis, has many different areas named in his honor in the northern Clark County region. This includes the Lewis River, the Lewis River Valley, and Lewisville. Originally known as Cathlapootle, this region became known for agriculture and river transportation. While nearby centers of industrial development, such as Vancouver, grew rapidly during the 1940’s, Lewisville remained largely undeveloped until the 1970’s.
With a population around 1,700 people, Lewisville is a quiet area with easy access to the I-5 corridor. With the Portland/Vancouver metro area only 20 minutes away, Lewisville enjoys both rural natural beauty and metropolitan entertainment. One of Lewisville prime jewels is Lewisville Regional Park, the oldest park in Clark County. With forests and meadows along the East Fork of the Lewis River, this park offers sports fields, boat launches, hiking trails, and fishing areas.
