A residential home inspection gives you information about the condition of a property before you make a decision about it. At Nonprofit Home Inspections, our inspectors evaluate the accessible components and systems included within the applicable state Standards of Practice and provide a detailed report explaining their observations.
We perform residential home inspections throughout Oregon and Washington, including the Portland and Vancouver metropolitan areas and communities throughout the Willamette Valley.
Our inspectors are licensed and certified in the states where they work and are trained to identify and document conditions that may be important to a home buyer, seller, or homeowner.
What We Inspect
Every home has its own construction methods, maintenance history, repairs, and conditions. Our inspectors evaluate the accessible components included within the scope of a residential home inspection.
A typical residential home inspection includes an evaluation of accessible components such as:
- Roof and roof drainage
- Exterior walls, siding, doors, and windows
- Foundation and visible structural components
- Attic and insulation
- Crawlspace
- Plumbing systems and fixtures
- Electrical service and visible electrical components
- Heating and cooling systems
- Water heater

- Site conditions, drainage, and other readily accessible components
We also use thermal imaging during our home inspections. Thermal imaging can help identify temperature differences that may warrant further investigation, including conditions associated with moisture, insulation, or certain electrical components.
Your Inspection Report
The inspection is only part of the service. The report provides a record of the inspector’s observations and information you can use after the inspection.
Our reports are delivered electronically in HTML and PDF formats and may include photographs, videos, and 360-degree images where applicable.
We provide same-day reports for our home inspections. This can be particularly useful during a real estate transaction when inspection findings need to be reviewed within a limited period.
After the inspection, your inspector is available to answer questions about the report and the conditions identified during the inspection.
