Thermal Imaging During Portland Home Inspections
Nonprofit Home Inspections uses thermal imaging during home inspections. Infrared cameras can show temperature differences that are not visible to the naked eye and may help identify areas that warrant closer examination.
Our inspectors use thermal imaging as one of the tools available during the inspection. It can be useful when evaluating conditions involving moisture, insulation, and certain electrical components.
Thermal imaging does not replace the inspector’s visual evaluation, and an unusual temperature pattern does not by itself establish a defect. The inspector considers thermal findings along with other observations made during the inspection.
